Day 01 : Kolkata (Calcutta)

Arrive Kolkata early in the morning. You will be met and transferred to the Taj Bengal for two nights (room booked from previous evening). Morning free. Afternoon enjoy a sightseeing tour of this sprawling metropolis.

Day 02 : Kolkata – Darjeeling

The day is at leisure. In the evening begin your Indian rail experience by transferring to the busy Sealdah Station to board the Darjeeling Mail. The overnight journey is in air-conditioned first class sleeper.

Day 03 : New Jalpaiguri - Darjeeling

On arrival at New Jalpaiguri in the morning change to the narrow gauge "Toy Train", pulled by steam. Enjoy a scenic ride through the hills to Darjeeling. Upon arrival at transfer to your hotel, (if the "toy" train is not operating up to the foothills, as is often the case, the transfer will be by car and a day ride on the train will be arranged from Darjeeling to Ghoom or Kurseong).

Day 04 : Darjeeling

An excursion to Tiger Hill and Ghoom Monastery has been arranged for the morning. The remainder of the day is at leisure.

Day 05 : Darjeeling

A day at leisure.

Day 06 : Darjeeling - New Jalpaiguri - Varanasi

Drive down to New Jalpaiguri to board the Rajdhani to Varanasi, in air-conditioned 2 tier. Overnight is on board of the train.

Day 07 : Varanasi

Arrive just past midnight and transfer to your hotel (booked from previous evening). Morning free. Afternoon excursion to Sarnath.

Day 08 : Varanasi – Agra

Early morning enjoy a boat ride on the river Ganges to see devotees at prayer along the banks. In the evening transfer to the station to board the train for Agra. Overnight on board train.

Day 09 : Agra

Upon arrival at Agra in the morning you will be met and transferred to your hotel. The afternoon sightseeing includes the Taj Mahal and Agra Fort.

Day 10 : Agra – Shimla

Morning excursion to the deserted city of Fatehpur Sikri. In the afternoon drive to Delhi and transfer to the railway station to board the super fast train Kalka Mail for Kalka. Overnight onboard train.

Day 11 : Kalka – Shimla

Arrive Kalka early in the morning where you connect with the Shivalik Express. Enjoy a four-hour ride up the hills to Shimla. On arrival transfer to your hotel. Rest of the day is at leisure.

Day 12 : Shimla

The day is at leisure.

Day 13 : Shimla - Delhi

Morning free. Afternoon drive to Kalka to board the Shatabdi Express to Delhi arrive Delhi and transfer to your hotel for overnight.

Day 14 : Delhi – Onward Flight

Morning enjoy a sightseeing of Delhi including the Jama Masjid, Chandni Chowk, Lutyens buildings and the Railway Museum. Your afternoon is at leisure. Evening transfer to the International airport for your onward flight.
