ITINERARY

KUCHING – BAKO (-/L/D)

DAY 1 Pick up from the hotel and travel by car to Bako village. Arrive at the jetty and board an open roof boat for half an hour to the national park. After registration at the park and check in, proceed for trekking in the park. Simple lunch and dinner at Bako canteen. After dinner, you can choose to hike some more trails. Overnight in a simple guesthouse.

BAKO (B/L/D)

DAY 2 Early morning call for morning coffee. At 6:00 AM trek to the sleeping place of the Proboscis monkeys and stay there until sunrise (6:30 - 6:45 AM).

If the fortune is with you, you should get a very good opportunity to see these monkeys sleeping in the dipterocarp forest. Once the sun rises, these monkeys will then proceed to the mangrove forest nearby to start their breakfast. You should be able to observe them at breakfast until around 8:30 - 9:00 AM. Afterwards, return to the park. You can either proceed for breakfast or stay at the park where you get a good chance of bird watching until 10:30 AM. Proceed for simple lunch at the Bako canteen and return to the resthouse for shower. Rest of the day can be spent trekking to explore the park further, swim or simply laze around this beautiful park. Simple dinner at Bako canteen and overnight in Bako resthouse.

BAKO – KUCHING (B/L/-)

DAY 3 After breakfast at the canteen please discuss with your guide what you wish to do today or simply relax at the beach. Simple lunch at the canteen. In the afternoon depart the park by motorized longboat back to Bako village, where you will travel by road to return back to your hotel in Kuching.

Our package tour prices are inclusive of transportation, English-speaking guide, meals as specified (B=Breakfast, L=Lunch, D=Dinner), entrance fee, boat fees and 2 nights accommodation at Bako resthouse.

Not included are meals not mentioned in the program, beverages consumed during meals and camera or video fee imposed by the national park (USD 1.50 for every camera, USD 3.00 for an amateur video camera and USD 57.00 for a professional video camera, subject to change without prior notice).

Surcharge for pick up / drop off at beach resorts Damai Beach: USD 5 per person (single traveller USD 10)

Notes
All boat transfers and activities in the longhouse are on Seat-in-coach basis.

Small deviations in the tour program are sometimes necessary, depending on road conditions and availability of rooms.
